Guide
How much do Slack AI employees like Viktor or Claude Tag cost for an agency?
A Slack AI employee for an agency is billed three ways. Viktor is $50 per workspace per month for 20,000 shared credits, with no per-seat charge. Claude Tag adds no extra Slack seat: Team Standard is $20 per member per month billed annually, and channel work is usage-billed with no published per-task cost. Lindy bills every active user from $29.99 a month. Slack Connect sits on Pro at $7.25 per user per month billed annually.

The sticker is not the agency bill
Agencies asking what a Slack AI employee costs are usually mixing three meters. Workspace billing (Viktor) is one shared pool. Per-seat billing (Lindy, and Claude Team seats) multiplies by everyone who uses it. Usage billing (Claude Tag channel work) has no published per-task price, so the bill is the spend limit you fund. Slack Connect is a fourth line: shared client channels sit on Pro and above.
The job in a 3-to-30 person shop is a hire in the channel where client work already happens, not another chatbot tab. Slack has no native owner on a thread, so a 9pm ask can sit while three people each assume someone else replied. Shared channels sit on paid Slack plans on both sides. The Free plan only allows one-to-one external DMs. What that hire is, as a job, is on the AI employee page for a marketing agency.
People shopping this prompt often treat Viktor as $50 per seat. It is not. Viktor's own plans page bills the workspace. A 10-person shop on the $50 plan still pays $50 for the employee, plus Slack. A priced set of swaps is on Viktor alternatives for an agency. The Claude Tag job split is on Claude Tag vs an AI employee.
Published prices, October 2026
Every figure below is from the vendor's own pricing page or docs, read 13 October 2026. Quote-only stays quote-only. Concrete has no public price.
| Tool | Published price | What that buys |
|---|---|---|
| Viktor Team | $50 per workspace per month for 20,000 credits; $100 free credits, no card | No per-seat charge. Unused plan credits roll over one month. $2.50 per 1,000 credits on every current plan. 3,200+ integrations. Slack and Teams. |
| Claude Team Standard | $20 per member per month billed annually; $25 billed monthly; minimum two members | Claude Tag is included in public beta on Team and Enterprise. Not on Free, Pro, or Max. Premium seats are $100 annually, $125 monthly. |
| Claude Tag channel work | Usage-billed to the organization's balance; no extra Slack seat | Team must fund the balance before Claude replies in channels. Reading, deciding, and short replies from what it already knows bill nothing. A working session is billed. No published per-task cost. |
| Lindy Team | From $29.99 per user per month for 3,000 credits; $50 free credits for 7 days, no card | Every active user is billed. An @mention in Slack takes a seat after a 7-day trial. Credits pool and do not roll over. Top-ups $10 per 1,000 credits. |
| Slack Pro | $7.25 per user per month billed annually; $8.75 billed monthly | Slack Connect shared channels and conversation summaries. |
| Slack Business+ | $15 per user per month billed annually; $18 billed monthly | Slackbot, the personal agent, at 15 messages per member per week, plus Slack's advanced AI. |
| Concrete | No public price | Design-partner preview. An AI employee in Slack with Send / Edit / Skip; it never sends on its own. |
What a 10-person agency actually pays
These rows use the published unit prices above, for ten people, with Slack billed annually. If the shop already pays Pro, drop the $72.50 Slack line. Claude Tag still needs a funded usage balance on top of seats; Anthropic does not publish a per-task cost, so that line cannot be filled from the pricing page.
Viktor says 20,000 credits is roughly 40 to 200 tasks, and a quick Slack question might cost 50 to 100 credits. Lindy's everyday asks are 2 to 250 credits. Those are vendor ranges, not a forecast of one agency's month.
| Setup | List price for 10 people | What is still extra |
|---|---|---|
| Viktor Team 20,000 credits plus Slack Pro | $50 + $72.50 = $122.50 a month | A larger credit pack if the pool runs out. Unused plan credits roll over one month. |
| Claude Tag, two Team Standard seats plus Slack Pro | $40 + $72.50 = $112.50 a month, plus usage | Channel work. Slack users do not each need a Claude seat to tag it in a channel. Team must fund a usage balance before Claude replies. |
| Claude Tag, ten Team Standard seats plus Slack Pro | $200 + $72.50 = $272.50 a month, plus usage | Same usage extra. One-to-one DMs from a member who has connected a Claude account bill to that seat. |
| Lindy Team, ten active users plus Slack Pro | $299.90 + $72.50 = $372.40 a month | Top-ups at $10 per 1,000 credits. Monthly credits do not roll over. Anyone who @mentions Lindy takes a seat after a 7-day trial. |
| Slack Business+ only, Slackbot included | $150 a month | 15 Slackbot messages per member per week. Catch-up, not a hire in the client channel. |
What each sticker buys
Pay for the job you actually have. A cheap catch-up tool is not an employee. An employee that executes across apps is not a send gate in a client channel. Each row names the job, the product that wins it, and why.
| Job | Wins it | Why |
|---|---|---|
| One shared employee across thousands of tools, billed per workspace | Viktor | Viktor from $50 per month for 20,000 shared credits. No per-seat charge. Unused plan credits roll over one month. |
| Already on Claude Team or Enterprise, @Claude in internal channels | Claude Tag | Claude Tag adds no extra Slack seat. Channel work is usage-billed. Public beta. Slack Connect is off by default. |
| A Slack-native teammate billed per seat, with approval on outside impact | Lindy | Lindy from $29.99 per user per month. Anything with outside impact waits for approval. Always allow exists. The split is on Lindy vs an AI employee. |
| Catch up on a dropped client thread with nothing extra to run | Slack AI | Conversation summaries ship with Pro. Slackbot, the personal agent, is on Business+ at 15 messages per member per week. |
| Tickets and SLAs on Slack Connect | A Slack helpdesk | Pylon, Thena, and ClearFeed win this row. It is a different product from an AI employee. Priced options are on the tools roundup. |
| A draft a person must approve, plus follow-ups that survive | Concrete | Send / Edit / Skip cards; no auto-send mode. Follow-ups survive reboots. Verdicts become written rules. Design-partner preview; see what it is. |
The caveats that change the bill
The failure mode agencies name first is an AI that talks to the client unsupervised. One wrong reply can cost the account. That is a larger number than any row above. Put the send gate in writing before you install anything in a Slack Connect channel. How to run an agent there is on using an AI agent in a Slack channel shared with a client.
Claude Tag's variable line is usage. Anthropic publishes no per-task cost. Team has no usage balance until it is funded, and Claude will not reply in channels until it is. Reading a channel, deciding whether to reply, and short replies from what Claude already knows bill nothing. A working session it starts from the channel is billed, including work it picks up on its own when Respond automatically is on, which is the default. Set a spend limit before launch and watch the per-channel breakdown.
Claude Tag is off in Slack Connect by default (Restrict), and it posts no notice there. An Owner can set Channel only. Then it answers with no memory, no workspace search, no org instructions, and no routines. People from the other company can talk to it. Everyone in the channel can read what it posts. Guests cannot approve a tool request. That is usually the wrong surface for a client channel, whatever the usage line says.
Lindy waits for approval on outside impact, with Always allow on each connected account. Viktor asks for confirmation before high-stakes actions such as sending email. Concrete has no auto-send mode: a person taps Send, or nothing goes out. A send-gate teammate is on an AI assistant that drafts replies and waits for approval. Taking more clients without a new salary is a different split, on how a 10-person agency handles more clients without hiring an account manager.
A practical setup for a 3-to-30 person shop
This is the boring version that holds when the owner is still the account manager for most clients. Pin it next to the bill, not after the first usage spike.
- Name the meter. Workspace, per-seat, or usage. A $50 workspace hire and a $30 seat are not comparable until you multiply the seat by everyone who @mentions it.
- Start with what you already pay. Slack Pro is the floor for Slack Connect. If Claude Team is already on the card, Tag is the cheapest add for internal channels, then the usage line is the risk. Adding a per-seat agent on top of that is a second bill.
- Fund a cap before anyone tags it. Claude Tag needs a funded usage balance and a spend limit on Team before it replies in channels. Viktor and Lindy pause when the credit pool runs out. Pause is cheaper than an unbounded invoice.
- Keep client-facing send on a tap. Lookups, summaries, and internal tags can run. Anything the client will see waits. If the vendor offers Auto, Always allow, or Respond automatically, leave that off in Slack Connect.
- Do not put Claude Tag in the client channel by default. Restrict is the default and posts no notice. Channel only turns it on with no memory and no routines, and guests can read every post. That is a different product from a hire the client cannot see drafting.
- Keep drafts off the shared thread. People in a Slack Connect channel can see bot messages. A public chase shows the client you are chasing your own team.
Questions people ask
How much does Viktor cost for a small agency?
Viktor bills the workspace, not each person. Team starts at $50 per month for 20,000 shared credits as of 13 October 2026, with no per-seat charge. Unused plan credits roll over one month. A new workspace gets $100 in free credits and no card. Viktor says 20,000 credits is roughly 40 to 200 tasks.
How is Claude Tag billed if the agency already pays for Claude Team?
Channel work is usage-billed to a funded organization balance, with no extra Slack seat. Team Standard seats are $20 per member per month billed annually, or $25 billed monthly, minimum two members. Team must fund the balance before Claude replies in channels. There is no published per-task cost.
Does tagging Claude in Slack cost an extra Slack seat?
No. Adding Claude to Slack does not add a per-seat Slack charge. Channel, thread, and group DM work draws from the organization's usage balance. Slack users do not each need a Claude seat to tag @Claude in a channel. One-to-one DMs from a member who has connected a Claude account bill to that seat.
Why is Lindy more expensive than Viktor for a 10-person shop?
Viktor is $50 per workspace for 20,000 shared credits. Lindy bills every active user from $29.99 a month for 3,000 credits, pooled. Ten people who @mention Lindy are ten seats, $299.90, plus Slack. An @mention in Slack takes a Lindy seat after a 7-day trial. Credits do not roll over.
Do we still pay for Slack on top of the AI employee?
Yes. Shared Slack Connect channels sit on Pro and above. Pro is $7.25 per user per month billed annually, or $8.75 billed monthly, as of 13 October 2026. Conversation summaries ship with Pro. Slackbot, the personal agent, is on Business+ at 15 messages per member per week. The AI employee is a second bill.
Can a Slack AI employee reply to a client without a person tapping send?
Most agencies treat an unsupervised client reply as the failure that costs the account. Claude Tag may reply on its own when Respond automatically is on. Lindy waits for approval on outside impact, with Always allow. Viktor asks for confirmation before high-stakes sends. Concrete has no auto-send mode.

If your team already runs its work in Slack, start with one role in one channel. Concrete is an AI teammate that works in your Slack channels and asks a person to approve before anything goes out. It is not a chatbot builder, and it never sends on its own.
