Roundup

Best AI tools for agency client communication in Slack

Eight products cover most of what a small agency can do with AI in client Slack channels. Slack's own AI catches you up on a shared thread. Pylon, Thena, and ClearFeed turn Slack Connect messages into tickets with SLAs. Lindy and Viktor run work across connected apps. Agentforce is for teams already on Salesforce. Pick by the job: catch-up, ticketing, or drafting a reply a person still has to send.

The job in a client Slack channel

For an agency, best is the tool that matches the job in a Slack Connect client channel: catching up on a dropped thread, turning a message into owned work with an SLA, or drafting a reply a person still has to send.

Shared channels with a client sit on Slack Pro and above. The Free plan only allows one-to-one external messages. Conversation summaries ship with Pro. Slackbot, Slack's personal AI agent, ships with Business+ and Enterprise+; Business+ caps Slackbot at 15 messages per member per week.

Agencies already treat one unsupervised reply in a client channel as the way you lose the account. Slack Connect also has no native owner on a thread: several people can see a 9pm ask and each assume someone else replied.

The eight tools

Eight products, grouped by the job they actually do. Concrete is last because it is ours.

  • Slack AI. Native conversation summaries on Pro, and Slackbot on Business+. Use it to catch up on a shared client thread you missed overnight.
  • Pylon. Pylon tracks customer issues from Slack Connect channels, bundles related messages into issues, and gives the team Internal Threads. A separate Slack Agent lets teammates tag @Pylon internally. Pricing is quote-only.
  • Thena. Thena is a Slack-native B2B helpdesk: tickets, SLAs, CSAT, and auto-responses inside Slack. Starter is $29 per user per month billed annually, up to five seats and 1,000 tickets, Slack and email.
  • ClearFeed. ClearFeed turns Slack Connect threads into tickets. A Virtual Agent can answer in the request thread; an Agent Assistant drafts privately for a human. Helpdesk Starter is $24 per agent, or $40 per month for ten channels.
  • Lindy. Lindy is a Slack-native teammate with 1,500+ integrations. Anything with outside impact waits for approval. Team starts at $29.99 per user per month for 3,000 credits; every active user is billed.
  • Viktor. Viktor is a Slack-native agent billed per workspace, from $50 per month for 20,000 credits, with 3,200+ integrations and no per-seat charge. Unused plan credits roll over one month.
  • Agentforce. Agentforce puts Salesforce agents in Slack. Sales Cloud in Slack is an add-on at $125 per user per month for existing Sales Cloud Enterprise or Unlimited users. Flex Credits start at $500 per 100,000 credits.
  • Concrete. Concrete is an AI employee that works in existing Slack channels. Drafts land as Send / Edit / Skip cards; there is no auto-send mode. Follow-ups survive reboots, and a person's verdicts become written rules. It is in design-partner preview. The longer thesis is on the vision page.

The caveat that should decide the shortlist

The failure mode agencies name first is an AI that talks to the client unsupervised. One wrong reply can cost the account. The other failure is quieter: a client asks at 9pm, three people see it, and Monday the client emails the founder because nobody owned the thread.

ClearFeed's Virtual Agent answers in the request thread; its Agent Assistant drafts in a private triage channel. Thena's Standard plan includes AI auto-responses. Lindy's pricing page states that anything with outside impact waits for approval. Concrete has no auto-send mode: a person taps Send, or nothing goes out.

If the job is a client-facing Slack Connect channel, make auto-send a mode you opt into. Pair a helpdesk so every ask has an owner with a teammate that drafts and follows up.

Questions people ask

Do agencies need a paid Slack plan to share channels with clients?

Yes. Slack's Free plan only allows one-to-one external messages. Shared Slack Connect channels with a client sit on Pro and above. Pro is $7.25 per user per month billed annually as of 7 October 2026. Conversation summaries ship with Pro; Slackbot is on Business+.

Should an AI send replies to clients without a person tapping send?

Most agencies in this roundup treat unsupervised client replies as the failure mode that costs an account. ClearFeed offers a Virtual Agent that answers in-channel and an Assistant that drafts for a human. Lindy waits for approval on anything with outside impact. Concrete has no auto-send mode.

What is the difference between a Slack helpdesk and an AI teammate?

A Slack helpdesk (Pylon, Thena, ClearFeed) turns shared-channel messages into tickets with owners, SLAs, and queues. An AI teammate (Lindy, Viktor, Concrete, Slackbot) sits in the channel and drafts, looks things up, or schedules follow-ups. A ticket logs the ask; a teammate tool keeps the promise made on a call.

Which of these tools is cheapest for a small agency?

Slack AI is bundled in a paid Slack seat, so Pro at $7.25 per user per month annually is the floor. Next published prices: ClearFeed from $24 per agent, Thena Starter at $29 per user billed annually, Lindy at $29.99 per user, Viktor from $50 per workspace. Pylon is demo-gated. Agentforce needs Salesforce.

What AI tools do agency owners use day to day?

Most run three kinds. A general assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude for drafting and research. Slack's own AI for catching up on channels; Slack says its pilot customers save 97 minutes per user a week, by its own analysis. And one job-specific tool: a helpdesk, a meeting notetaker, or a teammate in client channels.
