Best Viktor alternatives for an agency

Agencies shopping for a Viktor alternative are usually picking among three jobs. Keep Viktor when the job is one shared employee across 3,200-plus tools, billed per workspace. Lindy is the closest Slack-native swap, billed per seat, with approval on outside impact. Slackbot and Claude Tag win if those seats are already paid. ClearFeed and Thena win when Slack Connect needs tickets and SLAs.

What agencies hire Viktor to do

Viktor is an AI employee that lives in Slack and Microsoft Teams, connects to 3,200+ tools, and executes the work: reports, dashboards, code, campaigns. Team plans start at $50 per workspace per month for 20,000 shared credits, with no per-seat charge. Unused plan credits roll over one month. New workspaces get $100 in free credits and no card.

A small agency usually buys that shape for one shared hire the whole shop can @mention. Client work is a second job. Shared Slack Connect channels sit on Slack Pro and above; the Free plan only allows one-to-one external messages. Slack has no native owner on a thread, so a 9pm client ask can sit while three people each assume someone else replied. One unsupervised reply in that channel is how agencies say you lose the account.

Pick the alternative by that split: a teammate that still executes across apps, Slack's own AI so nothing extra runs in the channel, or a helpdesk that turns the thread into a ticket. A wider priced set lives on the AI tools roundup for agency client Slack.

The six alternatives

Six products. Concrete is last because it is ours.

  • Lindy. Lindy is a Slack-native teammate with 1,500+ integrations. Anything with outside impact waits for approval. Always allow exists on each connected account. Team starts at $29.99 per user per month for 3,000 credits; every active user is billed, including an @mention in Slack after a 7-day trial.
  • Slack AI. Native conversation summaries ship with Pro. Slackbot, Slack's personal AI agent, ships with Business+ and Enterprise+; Business+ caps Slackbot at 15 messages per member per week. Use it to catch up on a shared client thread with no extra vendor in the channel.
  • Claude Tag. Claude Tag puts @Claude in Slack on Team and Enterprise plans. Channel work is usage-billed to the organization's balance, with no extra Slack seat. Slack users do not each need a Claude seat to tag it in a channel. It does not work in Slack Connect channels.
  • ClearFeed. ClearFeed turns Slack Connect threads into tickets. A Virtual Agent can answer in the request thread; an Agent Assistant drafts privately for a human. Helpdesk Starter is $24 per agent, or $40 per month for ten channels.
  • Thena. Thena is a Slack-native B2B helpdesk: tickets, SLAs, CSAT, and auto-responses inside Slack. Starter is $29 per user per month billed annually, up to five seats and 1,000 tickets, Slack and email. Standard adds AI auto-responses.
  • Concrete. Concrete is an AI employee that works in existing Slack channels. Drafts land as Send / Edit / Skip cards; there is no auto-send mode. Follow-ups survive reboots, and a person's verdicts become written rules. It is in design-partner preview. The longer thesis is on the vision page.

The caveat that should decide the shortlist

The failure mode agencies name first is an AI that talks to the client unsupervised. One wrong reply can cost the account. Put that gate in writing before you install anything in a Slack Connect channel. How to run an agent in a shared client channel is on using an AI agent in a Slack channel shared with a client.

Claude Tag is off the shortlist for that channel: Anthropic's docs say it does not work in Slack Connect, and no admin setting turns it on. Viktor's own FAQ says connected integrations are shared with the whole team, and the instance is workspace-level today, with role-based access still on the roadmap. It asks for confirmation before high-stakes actions such as sending email or deploying. Lindy waits for approval on outside impact, with Always allow. ClearFeed's Virtual Agent answers in the request thread; Agent Assistant drafts in a private triage channel. Concrete has no auto-send mode: a person taps Send, or nothing goes out.

The quieter failure is a client ask that nobody owns. A helpdesk gives the thread an owner and an SLA. A teammate keeps the promise made on the call. Pair them if you need both. Overnight coverage is a different split, on how agencies keep client Slack answered after hours. A send-gate teammate is on an AI assistant that drafts replies and waits for approval.

Questions people ask

Does Claude Tag work in a Slack Connect channel with a client?

No. Anthropic's docs say Claude does not work in Slack Connect channels, and no admin setting turns it on. An @Claude mention there gets a notice and no answer. If a working channel becomes Slack Connect, Claude stops answering, including in threads it was already in.

How do Viktor and Lindy bill a small agency?

Viktor bills the workspace: $50 a month for 20,000 shared credits, no per-seat charge, with one-month rollover on unused plan credits. Lindy bills every active user from $29.99 a month for 3,000 credits, pooled, with no monthly rollover. Both pause when the pool runs out.

Should an agency replace Viktor with a Slack helpdesk?

Only if the leak is ownership and SLAs on Slack Connect threads. ClearFeed and Thena turn messages into tickets with owners. Viktor and Lindy execute work across connected apps. A ticket logs the ask. A coworker tool keeps a promise made on a call. Many shops need both.

Can these tools send a reply to a client without a person tapping send?

Most agencies treat an unsupervised client reply as the failure that costs an account. ClearFeed's Virtual Agent can answer in-thread. Thena's Standard plan includes AI auto-responses. Lindy waits for approval on outside impact, with Always allow. Viktor asks for confirmation before high-stakes sends. Concrete has no auto-send mode.
